Sapphic Saturday Announcement: October’s Updated Google Form

If you missed it, we announced the date for October’s Sapphic Saturday readathon a couple of weeks ago and also shared with you all our first ever bingo card! Just to recap, the readathon will start at 12 AM in your timezone on October 17th and will end at 12 AM on October 18th.

If you participated in the September readathon, you might already know that we used a Google form to track your completed reads throughout the weekend. We really liked getting to see everyone’s reads that way, so we decided to continue using forms. However, we made some changes this time around.

September’s Stats

Last month, we had 10 completed books submitted to our form. This included 2,208 pages read and 2 hours and 47 minutes of audio listened to.

It was so great to see your completed reads, but through our social media accounts, we realized that a lot more people were participating in the readathon, they just couldn’t submit because they hadn’t finished their read. Readathons are a lot of fun, but most of us can’t actually spend an entire 24 hours reading. We know that you all have things to do, jobs to work, sleep to catch up on, and people to spend time with. You won’t always complete a read during a readathon, and that’s completely okay! Sapphic Saturday readathons are simply about promoting sapphic content; if you picked up a sapphic book for 10 minutes out of your day, you’re participating.

So, with that being said, we decided to make this month’s form–and all future forms–accessible to everyone participating, even if you haven’t finished a read.

October’s Google Form

This month, we invite you all to submit your page counts to our updated form linked below. You do not have to have finished your read in order to submit! If you read for 15 minutes and want to go ahead and submit however many pages you read during that duration, you can! If you’d rather wait until you’ve finished the book, you can do that, too.

Notes about the form:

• You can give us your name, a nickname, your username, or even remain anonymous if you’d like. The name section is not required, so feel free to put whatever you’d like here.
• You can submit as many times as you want during the readathon, so if you’re picking up the same book throughout the day and submitting each time, you can simply list the book title the first time you submit and then tell us “Same book” or something along those lines in future submissions.
• The page count and audiobook sections are not marked as required so that you can submit to one or the other (or both).
• Since we are doing a bingo card this time around, you can mark what prompt the book you are reading is for. If you aren’t using the bingo card or the prompts, you don’t have to mark anything.
• If you have any suggestions for future prompts, changes we should make to the form, comments about the readathon, or just want to tell us how the book you’re reading is going, we’ve included a section at the very end of the form for you to do so. We’d love to hear from you and to get your suggestions for any ideas you might have.
